It's a little disconcerting to be heading swiftly towards 30 and to just be realizing that it takes a plan to succeed. The nitty gritty will always get done, but the pleasures take the back burner and wind up buried under the nitty. Or the gritty. I made that up, I like it.
This week end ("What is a week end?" - the dowager countess) I want to take care of the shitty nitty gritty and do more, go beyond the norm and fly off the handle - I want to paint my kitchen!
Huzzah! I needed a drumroll. Seriously, this is a revelation. What a humdrum routine I've found myself wrapped up in - work, work, sleep, shower, work, work, sleep, shower... and on and on is truly going to do me in. I WANT: a clean, bright, beautiful kitchen! I want a ceiling fan because it gets hot when I'm cookin' up sumpthin' good! I want shelves to display all my treasures! I have a sweet little shelf above my sink, which is the picture for this post. I want more shelves! I wanna collect juice and cocktail glassware again! I want to have a kitchen full of tin toys (see my Pinterest)! I want to sew curtains! So, dear friends, can I muster the courage to buy a can of paint, a roller, and define the time to paint?
