Back to the Drawing Board

On our Election Day holiday, Genevieve and I started a project I've had hidden away for years - a ship in a bottle kit. Last night I painted the ship's hull and the base for the bottle, then I read and read and read A Storm of Swords because I can't put the series, "A Song of Fire and Ice,"  down. I can't, it just speaks so wholeheartedly to my inner seaworthiness. And I'm remembering to slow down, the dishes will wait for a turn for a blanket and the couch is calling my name. I have a blanket to crochet and pottery to trim, and a needle and thread for the designs in my head. For the children - as soon as we finish Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we'll start The Hobbit because they're actually listening. And for the Husband -  I will begin to make things again rather than push around the other things that have gotten in my way. If reading is making my calmness a reality, bring it on. I want more words. Words that will take me away from what I've created. It seems I'm capable of change, it seems that I can actually make things better when I'm not so self absorbed.
