Find Your Light

My littles have their birthdays so close together that the time marches by each year at a steady deafening pace and before my eyes one is four and the other is six.  They are different now and it will take us a whole year to  understand them again.  That's what it's all about, folks.
Catching fireflies in the dusk light.

And it's also about catching fireflies in little bug bracelets and someone yelling, "Grab all you can and come inside!"  Then playing hide-and-seek in the darkened house with all of the bugs collected in a plastic coconut.  It's also about everyone sleeping in the living room together on the big comfy couch.

Cousins really are your first best friends.
It simply can't be about whether the grass has been mowed or if the trim has been painted.  There's no deck yet.  But there's a dog and she's our best friend and a slip-n-slide and sunshine and turning six with a dinosaur party, a chameleon, and a new bike

.
It's about your son telling you, "We picked a good house," because you can walk out the back door to the park.  And seeing your girl ride off and ride back again, getting the hang of it, asking you to hold onto the handle bars and to give her a push and you know in a weeks' time she won't need you to do that at all.
